Cooking With Grace

Real Food for Real People

Well our first Women Speak Out Forum transpired with a few technical hitches that had to be righted the Australian contingent unable to get onto the call for the first half of the forum. But eventually we were all able to discuss our passions and the ladies that shared on the call were Patti Cerano, Debbie Ducic, Joanie Winberg, Sue Hile and myself.

The inspirational thing about hearing women share their passions is that you can't help but acknowledge how different and unique we are and yet how much the same we are. Unique in that we have different passions but the same in the way that passion ignites, fires and wires us up for a better future.

I loved so many things that the ladies had to share about their journey. I remember Sue Hile from Adventurous Women sharing how her business has helped her to overcome her anxiety issues. How that not a day goes by when she doesn't fight with anxiety but that when she is engaged in her passion area, travel, it is almost like it is forgotten.

Joanie shared how her passion area, helping Divorcees, came from left of field as a focus for her life. She didn't set out to be a Divorce Counsellor - it chose her but she is now so passionate about helping families going through divorce, to not just survive but to thrive by moving forward.

Patti shared her love of mentoring and how when she sees people start to blossom it does something deep inside of her. I could really relate to this, as I have a similar heart for women. She talked to us about her business that helps business to thrive. I'm looking forward to hearing more about what she is up to in the near future.

Deb shared about Gutzy Women and her HUGE vision for womenkind. What an inspirational and motivational woman Deb is. I value her wisdom and her consistency so much.

I shared about Women Can International Inc and how I received a complete vision for the organisation, almost like a download from heaven. I shared about the five programs we have up and running - The Girlfriend Club Social and Mentoring Program, The Woman of Spirit Program that recognises women who exemplify the "I Can" spirit and encourages women to step out of the box, The Women Speak Out Forums, The Own Your Skin Campaign Personal Development Retreat Program which we are kicking off in 2009 and the Woman of Influence Program that recognises women who are positive role models in the community and not necessarily of celebrity status.

How do you like your steaks? When was the last time you enjoyed a good steak and what was good about it? Do you have any questions about what to look for when you are choosing steak from the supermarket or butchers and also how to best prepare it?
